And who is Erika?

It all started with Erika. Actually the "Aunt Erika", the aunt of Johannes, to be exact. In 1976 she received her first guests and welcomed them like family members. Humorous, always an open ear, super cook and mushroom witch. Yes, read correctly. Everywhere she was known for going into the forest almost every day in search of chanterelles and porcini mushrooms. One could well say she was addicted to them.

There is a lot to tell and we enjoy reminiscing about her together with our guests. Unfortunately she is no longer with us today, but her spirit lives on in our house. We could learn a lot from her. Perhaps this is one of the reasons why the passion for hospitality has spilled over to us. That we continue to run the guesthouse with joy and passion would probably have made her very happy.
